HEALTH BENEFITS OF BLACK RAISINS

Health Tips

Black raisins are packed with vital nutrients such as iron and protein which are essential for the formation of Red blood cells (RBC).

Iron deficiency anaemia is a condition that develops when the requirement of increasing need for the RBC production is not met through the diet.

During childhood, adolescence, menstruation and pregnancy their requirement is increased to meet the growth and to improve the RBC production.

Regular consumption of 10 to 15 soaked black raisins in a copper vessel helps to improve the well-being of an individual by providing essential nutrients to the body. Those who are mentioned above can benefit from this readily available fruit source to prevent and/or to recover from this deficiency anaemia.

Health Tips

While consuming iron rich foods, we should take it along with Vitamin-C rich food source. Iron rich foods will help in the better absorption of soluble haem-iron inside our body. For example, amla and other citrus fruits are rich in Vitamin-C. But we should consume it in raw form. It will result in loss in ascorbic acid that is present in citrus fruits.

And also these raisins are rich source of energy. 100 g of raisins provide 308 kilocalories. It can be taken as a snack instead of having non-nutrient junk foods.
